As a teen in the State of California you have the right to pregnancy testing and prenatal care. If you need to have a pregnancy test, it is your right to get a confidential test and get the results without anyone else finding out. If you use your parents or partner’s health insurance to pay for the test, you may not be able to keep the information private. If you become pregnant, you can stay pregnant and become a parent, place the baby for adoption, or end the pregnancy by having an abortion. The earlier you know that you are pregnant, the more choices you have so you should take a pregnancy test right away. Here at The Saban Free Clinic, staff members are highly trained and sensitive to the needs of youth. We provide pregnancy options counseling and should you decide to terminate (end) the pregnancy we will provide you with a referral list of clinics/doctors who provide abortions or referrals for adoption. If you want to have the baby, get prenatal care right away. KNOW THE FACTS: In the state of California, there is a law that allows a parent or person with lawful custody of a baby to SAFELY SURRENDER (give up) a baby confidentially and without fear of prosecution (legal action) within 72 hours of birth. This law provides a safe alternative to desperate mothers who are unwilling or unable to keep their babies once born.
